- «пропусти ход» — заставляет следующего игрока пропустить его очередь ходить;
- «возьми две» — следующий игрок берет пару карт из колоды и пропускает ход;
- «закажи цвет» позволяет игроку выбрать цвет карты, которую нужно положить следующей;
Uno»
- выложить на стол карту из руки, если цвет фона совпадает с цветом фона открытой карты;
- выложить на стол карту из руки, если число или символ совпадают с открытым изображением;
The UNO Flip rules follow much of the standard UNO rules that are in the majority of the different UNO games; the key difference in this version, however, is the Flip card.
Can you see another player just about to take victory? Flip the cards around so that other players’ plans get completely ruined, and you might be able to steal the victory.
Players need a little bit of luck but also need a fair bit of tactical thinking so that they can flip the game in their favor but also be wary that other players will be planning to do the same.

What is UNO Flip?
UNO Flip contains the unique Flip Card, and this card quite literally does what it says – Flips the game around on a whim.
The UNO Flip deck is double-sided with a Light and Dark side on each card, which, when flipped, completely changes each player’s hands.
Number of Players Required: 2 – 10 players.
Who Can Play It: Recommended ages 7+.
Difficulty: Easy.
Length of Play: 10 – 20 minutes per round.
Similar to: Classic UNO; Phase 10; Skip-Bo
Main Objective: Become the first player to achieve 500 points across multiple rounds.
Why We Love It: UNO Flip quite literally flips the game of UNO on its head, throws the rules out the window, and makes it so anyone can be on the verge of victory at any point.
Playing UNO Flip – What You’ll Need.
You’ll need a unique set of UNO Flip cards to be able to play this one.

UNO Flip comes with both Light and Dark cards, which are unique to the game, but each card has a Light and Dark side, which is key to gameplay.
How To Set Up UNO Flip
Start by making sure the Light side of the cards is face down, and the Dark side is face up – the Dark cards have a black background, whereas the Light cards have a white background.
Players draw one card each and reveal the number on the Light side; whoever draws the card with the highest number is the person who needs to shuffle the deck.
The dealer shuffles the deck and hands out 7 cards to each player; players will need to keep them Light side down to begin with.
The remaining cards will need placing in the middle of all players as the draw pile; make sure these are Light side down as well.
Turn over the top card from the draw pile and place it Light side up next to the draw pile to form the discard pile that you’ll be using throughout the game to get rid of your cards.
The Flip Card is arguably the most important card in the game, as this card forces everyone to switch their cards from the Light to Dark side and vice versa.
Starting the Game
Whoever sits to the dealer’s left starts the game by laying one of their cards on the discard pile.
The starting player needs to match either the number or the card’s color that’s on the top of the discard pile.
Once the player has taken their turn, play continues left around the circle, with players taking turns 1 at a time.
How to Play UNO Flip
UNO Flip largely follows the Classic UNO rules, with the key difference being the special flip rule that is within the game.
Players go round in the circle placing cards that match the number or color of the top card on the discard pile in an attempt to get rid of all their cards first.
If a player cannot go, they can draw a card from the draw pile, and if the card they pull can be played, then they are free to do so.
Throughout the game, players will also pick up various Action Cards that can change the course of the game:
For the Light side of these Actions Cards, they include:
- Draw 1 Card – Has a +1 picture on the front; the player whose turn is next picks up a card and misses a go.
- Reverse Card – 2 alternating arrows, this switches the play from going clockwise to anti-clockwise.
- Skip Card – Symbolised with a Stop sign, the next plater due their turn has to miss their go.
- Wild Card – An oval with all 4 different game colors in segments. The player who plays this can pick which color the next player has to follow.
- Wild Card +2 – The same as Wild Card, except the next player has to draw 2 cards from the draw pile as well.
- Flip Card – Playing this card flips the cards so that everyone has to play with the reverse side of their cards. The draw pile also gets flipped over too.
The Dark Side of the cards also has Action Cards, although these differ slightly.
- Draw 5 Card – The next player needs to pick up 5 cards and skip a turn. Has a +5 written on the card.
- Reverse Card – Same picture and effect as the Light Side Reverse Card.
- Skip Everyone Card – An arrowed circle is on this card, everyone skips a turn, and the game resumes with the player who plays this card.
- Wild Card – Same picture and effect as the Light Side Wild Card.
- Wild Draw Color Card – Similar to the Wild Card, except the next player has to continue drawing cards until they draw a card that matches the color you suggest.
- Flip Card – Same picture and effect as the Light Side Flip Card.
Except for the Wild Cards, each card has a different colored back and can only get played when the top card on the discard pile matches.
Like all other UNO games, players who reach their last card need to shout at UNO; failing to do so get penalized with a 1 card draw penalty.
Once a player manages to get rid of all their cards, the round ends.

Scoring In UNO Flip
After the completion of each round, the players who didn’t manage to get rid of their cards take stock of the cards left in their hands, and a score gets calculated depending on what’s left.
Each card is worth the following points:
- Number cards – Face Value
- Draw One card – 10 Points
- Draw Five card – 20 Points
- Reverse card – 20 Points
- Skip card – 20 Points
- Skip Everyone card – 30 Points
- Flip card – 20 Points
- Wild card – 40 Points
- Wild Draw Two card – 50 Points
- Wild Draw Color card – 60 Points
Each player counts up how many points that their hand is worth, and that score gets given to the player who won the round.
If the winning player surpasses 500 points or more, they win the game.
If they didn’t get to 500 points, the game restarts with a new dealer and continues until a player reachers 500+ points.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you play Classic UNO with a UNO Flip deck?
It is possible to play Classic Uno with a UNO Flip deck if you play with the Light Side only and remove the Flip Cards.
Can you Stack the +5 Card in Uno Flip?
+5 and subsequently the +1 Action Cards can be stacked, which means a player can play their own +5 or +1 Action Card on top of an existing one to pass over to the next player.
This can continue until a player isn’t able to play their own and must add up all the multipliers and pick up the equivalent number of cards.
Is UNO Flip better than UNO?
Both games have their advantages, and which game you choose to play largely depends on personal preference.
UNO Flip is generally considered to be one of the harder versions of UNO, so if you’re playing with more experienced players, the game would be the ideal version.

UNO FLIP plays like regular UNO, except there are two sides to the deck of cards: a «light» side and a «dark» side.
You start playing with the Light Side, but whenever someone plays a FLIP card, the deck is flipped over (as are the cards in your hand) and now everyone must play off of the Dark Side of the cards.
The Dark Side has different Action Cards with much stiffer penalties. Player’s must play with the Dark Side cards until someone else plays another FLIP card, and then play goes back to the Light Side, and so on until someone has played all the cards in their hand, ending the round.
As always, if you are the first player to get rid of all of your cards in a round, you score points for the cards your opponents are left holding. Points in rounds accumulate and the first player to reach 500 points wins.
Note: Remember to score points based on which side (light or dark) the game ended on.
Components
Light Side (white Border):
- 18 Blue cards — 1 to 9
- 18 Green cards — 1 to 9
- 18 Red cards — 1 to 9
- 18 Yellow cards — 1 to 9
- 8 Draw One cards
- 8 Reverse cards
- 8 Skip cards
- 8 Flip
- 4 Wild cards
- 4 Wild Draw Two cards
Dark Side (black Border):
- 18 Pink cards — 1 to 9
- 18 Teal cards — 1 to 9
- 18 Orange cards — 1 to 9
- 18 Purple cards — 1 to 9
- 8 Draw Five cards
- 8 Reverse cards
- 8 Skip Everyone cards
- 8 Flip
- 4 Wild cards
- 4 Wild Draw Color cards
Setup
-
Since the deck is two-sided, make sure all the cards of each side are facing the same way: all the Light Side cards facing one way, all the Dark Side cards facing the other way.
-
Each player draws a card and then reveals the Light Side; the player that draws the highest number is the dealer (count any card with a symbol as zero).
-
The dealer shuffles and deals each player 7 cards. Hold the cards with the Light Side facing you and the Dark Side facing your opponents.
-
Place the remainder of the deck with the Light Side facedown to form a draw pile (the Dark Side cards will be facing UP).
-
The top card of the DRAW pile is turned over to begin a discard pile (the Light Side cards will be facing UP).
Game Play
The person to the left of the dealer starts play.
Whether playing the Light Side or the Dark Side, on your turn, you must match a card from your hand to the card on the top of the DISCARD pile, either by number, color or symbol (symbols represent Action Cards).
If you don’t have a card that matches the one on the DISCARD pile, you must take a card from the DRAW pile.
Note: When adding cards to your hand, make sure they are facing the same direction as the other cards in your hand.
For example, if you are currently playing the Light Side, add new cards to your hand with the Light Side facing you.
If the card you picked up can be played, you are free to put it down in the same turn. Otherwise, play moves on to the next person in turn.
You may also choose NOT to play a playable card from your hand. If so, you must draw a card from the DRAW pile. If playable, that card can be put down in the same turn, however you may not play any other card from your hand after the draw.
Action Cards
Light Side
Draw One Card
When you play this card, the next player must draw one card and miss their turn.
This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Draw One card. If turned up at the beginning of play, the same rule applies.
Reverse Card
When you play this card, the direction of play reverses (if play is currently to the left, then play changes to the right, and vice versa).
This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Reverse card.
If this card is turned up at the beginning of play, the dealer goes first, then play moves to the right instead of the left.
Skip Card
When you play this card, the next player is «skipped» (loses their turn). This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Skip card.
If a Skip card is turned up at the beginning of play, the player to the left of the dealer is «skipped», hence the player to the left of that player starts play.
Wild Card
When you play this card, you get to choose the color that continues play (any color including the color in play before the Wild card was laid down).
You may play a Wild card on your turn even if you have another playable card in your hand.
If a Wild card is turned up at the beginning of play, the person to the left of the dealer chooses the color that continues play.
Wild Draw 2 Card
When you play this card, you get to choose the color that continues play PLUS the next player must draw two cards from the DRAW pile and lose their turn.
However, there is a hitch! You may only play this card when you do NOT have another card in your hand that matches the COLOR on the DISCARD pile (but it is acceptable to play this card if you have matching number or Action Cards).
If turned up at the beginning of play, return this card to the deck and pick another card.
Note: If you suspect that a Wild Draw 2 card has been played on you illegally (i.e. the player has a matching card), then you may challenge that player.
The challenged player must show you (the challenger) their hand. If guilty, the challenged player must draw the 2 cards instead of you. However, if the challenged player is innocent, you must draw the 2 cards PLUS an additional 2 cards (4 total)!
Flip Card
When you play this card, everything flips from the Light Side to the Dark Side. Once the Flip card has been played, flip over the Discard Pile (the card just played will now be on the bottom), then the Draw Pile, then everyone’s hands must flip to the other side.
This new side will remain in play until another Flip card is played, changing it again. This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Flip card.
Dark Side
Draw Five Card
When you play this card, the next player must draw five cards and miss their turn.
This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Draw Five card.
Reverse Card
When you play this card, the direction of play reverses (if play is currently to the left, then play changes to the right, and vice versa).
This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Reverse card.
Skip Everyone Card
When you play this card, all players are «skipped» (loses their turn). Play then returns to whoever laid down the card.
This card may only be played on a matching color or on another Skip Everyone card.
Wild Card
When you play this card, you get to choose the color that continues play (any color including the color in play before the Wild card was laid down).
You may play a Wild card on your turn even if you have another playable card in your hand.
Wild Draw Color Card
When you play this card, the next player must draw until they get a color of your choosing (no matter how many cards they have to draw to do so) and lose their turn. However, there is a hitch!
You may only play this card when you do NOT have another card in your hand that matches the COLOR on the DISCARD pile (but it is acceptable to play this card if you have matching number or Action Cards).
Note: If you suspect that a Wild Draw Color card has been played on you illegally (i.e. the player has a matching card), then you may challenge that player.
The challenged player must show you (the challenger) their hand. If guilty, the challenged player must draw the cards until they get the chosen color instead of you. However, if the challenged player is innocent, you must draw the cards until you get the chosen color PLUS an additional 2 cards!
Flip Card
When you play this card, everything flips from the Dark Side to the Light Side.
Going Out
Whether you are playing with the Light Side or the Dark Side, when you play your next-to-last card, you must yell «UNO» (meaning «one») to indicate that you have only one card left. If you don’t yell «UNO» and you are caught before the next player begins their turn, you must draw two cards.
Once a player has no cards left, the round is over. Points are scoredand play starts over again.
If the last card played in a round is a Draw One, Draw Five, Wild Draw Two or Wild Draw Color card, the next player must draw the one, five, two or until they get a chosen color card respectively. These cards are counted when the points are totaled.
If no player is out of cards by the time the DRAW pile is depleted, the DISCARD pile is reshuffled and play continues.
Scoring
The first player to get rid of their cards in a round receives points for all of the cards left in their opponents’ hands as follows:
- All number cards (1-9): Face Value
- Draw One: 10 Points
- Draw Five: 20 Points
- Reverse: 20 Points
- Skip: 20 Points
- Skip Everyone: 30 Points
- Flip: 20 Points
- Wild: 40 Points
- Wild Draw Two: 50 Points
- Wild Draw Color: 60 Points
Once the score for the round has been tallied, if no player has reached 500 points, reshuffle the cards and begin a new round.
Note: Remember to score points based on which side (light or dark) the game ended on.
End of the Game
The winner is the first player to reach 500 points.

Setup
- All of the cards are double sided. Make sure to turn all of the cards so they are facing the same way.
- Each player draws a card and reveals the light side to the other players. The player who draws the highest number will be the first dealer. Any card that is not a number card, counts as zero.
- Shuffle all of the cards and deal seven cards to each player. Players should hold the cards so that the light side faces them, and the dark side faces their opponents. You can tell the side of a card by looking at its border.
- Place the rest of the cards on the table with the light side face down. These cards form the Draw Pile.
- Flip over the top card from the Draw Pile to start the Discard Pile. If you flip over an Action Card (anything that isn’t a number card), a special action will occur. Check out the corresponding section in the Light Side and Dark Side Card Meanings for the card that is flipped over.
- The player to the left of the dealer starts the game. Play moves clockwise to start the game
On each of your turns you will try to play one of the cards from your hand. To play a card it has to match one of three elements of the top card on the Discard Pile:
- Color
- Number
- Symbol
If a player has a card that matches one of these elements of the top card on the Discard Pile, they can play the card. Should you play an Action card, you will take a special action. See the corresponding section below for details on what each card does.
Should you have a card that you can play, you can choose not to play it. If you don’t have a matching card in your hand or you don’t want to play it, you will draw the top card from the Draw Pile. Look at the new card you drew. If this card can be played, you can play it immediately. If you are unable to play it, add the card to your hand making sure its side matches the rest of the cards in your hand.
In either case your turn ends. Play will then pass to the next player left (clockwise) or right (counterclockwise) depending on the current direction of play. To start the game play moves to the left.
Light Side UNO Flip! Card Meanings
Number
Number cards have no special ability in the game. You can only play them if they match the current color or number.
Draw One (+1)
When you play a Draw One card, the next player will draw one card from the Draw pile. The next player also loses their turn.
You may only play a Draw One card on top of another Draw One card or a card of the same color. If a Draw One card is played against you, you cannot play your own Draw One card to avoid the punishment and pass it on to another player.
When the dealer reveals a Draw One card to start the Discard Pile, the first player draws a card and loses their first turn.
Reverse
The Reverse card changes the order of play. If play was passing left (clockwise) it will now move right (counterclockwise). If play was passing right, it will now move left.
You may play a Reverse card on top of another Reverse card, or a card that matches its color.
Should the dealer reveal a Reverse card begin the round, the dealer starts the round. Play will pass right (counterclockwise).
Skip
When you play a Skip card, the next player loses their turn.
You may play a Skip card on top of another Skip card, or on a card that matches its color. If a Skip card is played against you, you cannot play your own Skip card to avoid being skipped.
If the dealer turns a Skip card over to start the round, the first player skips their turn.
Wild
A Wild card allows the player who plays it to change the current color to whichever of the four colors they prefer. They can choose to keep the Discard Pile the color it was before they played the Wild card.
As a Wild card matches every other card, you can play it at any time even if you have other cards that you can also play.
If a Wild card is the card that begins the round, the first player gets to choose the Discard Pile’s color.
Wild Draw 2 (+2)
The Wild Draw 2 card matches every other card in the game. You normally could play it at any time, but there is a catch. You can only play a Wild Draw 2 card if you have no cards in your hand that match the current color of the Discard Pile. Wild cards count as matching the color of the Discard Pile. If you only have cards that match the number/symbol, you can still play a Wild Draw 2.
A Wild Draw 2 card allows you to change the color of the Discard Pile to whichever color you prefer. The color you change the Discard Pile to has no impact on any potential challenge.
Should the dealer turn over a Wild Draw 2 to start a round, it is added back into the Draw Pile and a new card is drawn.
The next player in turn order has a decision to make. They can choose to accept that the player played the card correctly. In this case they will draw two cards, and they will lose their next turn.
Challenge
Otherwise the next player can choose to challenge the play of the card. The player who played the Wild Draw 2 has to show all of the cards from their hand to the challenging player. The challenging player is looking to see if there are any cards that match the color of the Discard Pile when the Wild Draw 2 was played.
If the player did not have any matching color cards in their hand, they played the card correctly. The challenging player has to draw four cards, and they still lose their turn.
Should the player have a matching color card in their hand, they played the card incorrectly. The player who played the Wild Draw 2 card has to draw the two cards instead of the challenger. The challenger also doesn’t lose their turn.
Flip
When a player plays a Flip card, all of the cards in the game are flipped to the other side. Each player will flip the cards in their hand to the Dark Side. You will flip the Draw and Discard Piles to the other side so that the card that was once on the bottom is now on the top. If the top card on the Discard Pile is now an Action Card, you will ignore its effect. If it is a Wild card though, the next player gets to choose the color for the Wild.
You may play a Flip card if it matches the current color or another Flip card.
Dark Side UNO Flip! Card Meanings
Number
Number cards on the Dark Side have no special ability. You may only play a number card if it matches the color or the number of the card on top of the Discard Pile.
Draw Five Card (+5)
A Draw Five card forces the next player to draw five cards from the Draw Pile. They will also have to skip their turn.
You may play a Draw Five card on top of another Draw Five Card, or on a card that matches its color. If a Draw Five card is played against you, you cannot play your own Draw Five card in order to pass the punishment onto the next player.
Reverse
The Reverse card reverses the order of play. If play was proceeding left (clockwise) it will now proceed right (counterclockwise). If play was moving right, it will now move left.
You can play a Reverse card on top of another Reverse card, or on a card that matches its color.
Skip Everyone
When you play a Skip Everyone card, all of the other players will lose their turn. You will immediately get to play another card.
You can play a Skip Everyone card on top of another Skip Everyone card, or a card that matches its color.
Wild
Wild cards match all of the other cards in the game. Therefore you can play them at anytime.
When you play a Wild card, you will choose the color of the Discard Pile. You can choose to keep it the same color it was before you played the Wild card. The next player will then have to play a card matching the new color, or they can play another Wild card.
Wild Draw Color
The Wild Draw Color card matches every other card in the game. You can only play a Wild Draw Color card though, if you have no cards in your hand that match the current color of the Discard Pile. Wild cards are considered matches for the color.
Whenever you play a Wild Draw Color card, you will choose which color to make the Discard Pile. The color you choose has no impact on any potential challenges.
The next player in turn order can either choose to accept that the card was played correctly, or they can challenge it.
If the player chooses to accept that the card was played correctly, they will start drawing cards. They have to keep drawing cards from the Draw Pile until they draw a card of the chosen color. They also lose their turn.
Challenge
If the player wants to challenge the play of the Wild Draw Color, they will look at the hand of the player who played it. They are looking for cards that match the color of the Discard Pile from before the Wild Draw Color card was played.
If the player played the card correctly (they had no cards that match the color), the challenger has to keep drawing cards until they draw a card that matches the chosen color. After they have found a matching card, they have to draw two additional cards. They also lose their turn.
Should there be a card in the player’s hand that matched the color, the player who played the card has to draw the cards. They will keep drawing cards until they find a card that matches the color they chose. The challenger does not have to draw any cards, and they don’t lose their turn.
Flip
A Flip card will flip all of the cards from the Dark Side to the Light Side. All of the players will flip the cards in their hands. The cards in the Draw and Discard piles are also flipped over so the bottom cards are now the top cards. If the new top card is an Action Card, you will ignore its effect.
A Flip card can only be played on a card of the same color or another Flip card.
End of Round
When you only have one card left in your hand (no matter if the cards are on the Light or Dark Side), you must say “UNO”. If you don’t say UNO and another player catches you before the next player’s turn, you will have to draw two cards from the Draw pile.
If the Draw pile ever runs out of cards before the end of a round, the Discard Pile will be reshuffled to form a new Draw Pile.
Scoring in UNO Flip!
A round ends as soon as a player plays the last card from their hand. If the last card that was played forces another player to draw cards, they will draw the corresponding cards. The players who still have cards in their hands will then put them face up on the table based on the side that players were using when the round ended. The player that got rid of all of their cards will then score points based on all of the cards left in the other players’ hands. The number of points each card is worth is as follows:
- Number Cards: The number on the card.
- Draw One Cards: 10 points
- Draw Five, Flip, Reverse, Skip: 20 points
- Skip Everyone: 30 points
- Wild: 40 points
- Wild Draw Two: 50 points
- Wild Draw Color: 60 points
If no players have scored over 500 total points, you will play another round.
Winning the Game
The first player to score 500 or more points wins the game.
Alternative Scoring
Instead of giving the winner points for all of the cards held by the other players, you can choose to have players score points for the cards left in their own hand. Scoring is otherwise the same. When one player has scored 500 or more points the game ends. The player that has scored the least points wins the game.
UNO Flip! Marvel
UNO Flip! Marvel follows the rules of the original game. The only difference is that the game includes two unique cards.
Wild Super Hero
This card is exclusive to UNO Flip! Marvel and is on the Light Side (Heroes) of the cards.
The Wild Super Hero card is wild so you can play it at any time. You can even play the card if you have another card in your hand that you could play.
If the card is turned over at the start of a round, the player to the left of the dealer chooses the color to start the game.
All of the players will count how many cards they have in their hand. The player with the most cards, chooses one to discard. The rules don’t specify what happens if multiple players are tied for the most cards. The player that discarded a card also gets to choose the color for the Discard Pile.
This card is worth 40 points during scoring.
Wild Villain
This card is exclusive to UNO Flip! Marvel is on the Dark Side (Villain) of the cards.
The Wild Villain card is wild, so you can play it at any time even if you have another card that you could play.
All of the players count up how many cards they have left in their hand. The player with the least cards, has to draw three cards. The game does not specify who has to draw cards if two or more players are tied for the least cards. The player that draws cards gets to choose the color for the Discard Pile.
This card is worth 40 points during scoring.
UNO Flip! Stranger Things
The main rules for UNO Flip! Stranger Things are the same as the original game. There are only a couple tiny tweaks to the main rules.
- During setup if you flip over any card other than a number card to start the Discard Pile, you will ignore the card’s action. You will flip over another card until a number card is revealed.
- Normally you will just play one hand. Whichever player gets rid of their last card, wins the game. You can choose to keep score though.
There are two unique cards exclusive to the game. The rest of the cards are the same as the original game except that the artwork is themed around Stranger Things.
Wild Jim Hopper
The Wild Jim Hopper card is only in UNO Flip! Stranger Things. It is on the Light Side of the cards.
When you play the Wild Jim Hopper card, all of the players count up how many cards they have in their hand. The player with the most cards in their hand gets to discard half of their cards. If the player has an odd number of cards, they get to discard an extra card. For example if you have seven cards, you get to discard four of the cards.
The card is also wild so the player that plays it gets to choose a color. They can choose any of the four colors including the color it was before they played the Wild Jim Hopper card. The next player in turn order has to follow the new color when playing cards.
The Wild Jim Hopper card is worth 40 points if you are keeping score.
Wild Eleven’s Waffle
This card is exclusive to UNO Flip! Stranger Things. It is on the dark side of the cards.
The card is wild so you can play it on any other card in the game.
Each player counts up how many cards they have in their hand. The player with the least cards in their hand has to draw cards. They will keep drawing cards until they draw a card that has a Waffle icon on it.
The card is also wild so the player gets to choose the color for the Discard Pile. They can choose any of the four colors including the color it was when they played the card. The next player in turn order has to play a card that matches the chosen color, or another wild card.
The Wild Eleven’s Waffle card is worth 40 points if you are keeping score.
UNO Flip! Transformers
UNO Flip! Transformers closely follows the main rules for the original game. There are only a couple small tweaks to the main rules.
- When you flip over a card to start the Discard pile during setup, you will ignore the ability of any non number card that is flipped over. You will flip over another card until you reveal a number card.
- Normally the first player to get rid of their last card, wins the game. You can choose to keep score though.
Wild The Might of Optimus Prime
This card is exclusive to UNO Flip! Transformers. It is on the Light Side of the cards.
Choose another player to challenge. The player who played the Wild The Might of Optimus Prime and the player they challenged both show the card from their hand that is the highest number. This only includes number cards from 1-9.
Whichever player has a higher card wins the challenge. The winner chooses two cards from their hand to discard. They will place the two cards they chose to discard beneath the Wild The Might of Optimus Prime card.
If there is a tie or the challenged player does not have any number cards, the player who played the Wild The Might of Optimus Prime wins the challenge and gets to discard two cards.
You cannot use the ability from winning the challenge to discard the last card from your hand.
The Wild The Might of Optimus Prime card is also wild, so you get to chose the color for the Discard Pile.
If you are keeping score, the card is worth 40 points.
Wild The Tyranny of Megatron
This card is exclusive to UNO Flip! Transformers.
When you play the Wild The Tyranny of Megatron card, you will choose one of the other players to challenge. Both players will reveal their hands. Determine the lowest number card in each players’ hand. The player that has the lowest number card has to draw two cards from the Draw Pile. The rules don’t specifically mention who is the winner of the challenge, but I would assume the player who doesn’t have to draw cards is the winner of the challenge.
Should the two players tie, the player who originally played the Wild The Tyranny of Megatron card is the winner of the challenge. The other player has to draw the two cards.
This card is also considered a wild card. The player who wins the challenge gets to choose the color of the Discard Pile.
The Wild The Tyranny of Megatron card is worth 40 points if you are keeping score.
UNO Flip! FAQ
If you have any questions about how to play the game, leave a comment below on this post. I will try to answer any questions asked as best and as quickly as possible.
A Flip card was just played which flipped over the Discard Pile. The top card on the Discard Pile is now an Action Card. Is the action card’s effect applied, or do you just follow the card’s color?
The rules specifically address what happens in this situation.
Should an Action Card become the top card on the Discard Pile after the pile is flipped, you ignore the action from the card. The next player just has to play a card that matches the color or symbol of the top card.
For example a Skip card becomes the top card after the cards are flipped. The current player is not skipped. They will either have to play a Skip card, or a card that matches the Discard Pile’s color.
If the top card is a wild card, the player that played the Flip card gets to choose the color for the Discard Pile.
The last card played during the round was a Flip card. Do all of the players have to flip their cards to the other side before points are scored?
Unfortunately the rules do not specifically address what happens in this situation. The rules do state that if the last card forces the next player to draw cards, they must draw the cards before points are scored.
While I couldn’t find an official answer to this situation, I would guess you would handle it in the same way as a draw card. When the Flip card is played, all of the cards are flipped to the other side. The winner of the round scores points from the cards based on the side they are flipped to.
The previous player played a Wild Draw Color card. While drawing cards I draw a wild card. Does that count as matching the chosen color so I can stop drawing cards?
The rules do not specifically say whether wild cards count as matching the color chosen for a Wild Draw Color card.
I can’t give an official answer for how to handle this situation. I personally would handle it where drawing a wild does not count as matching the color chosen by the player who played the Wild Draw Color. The wild is not actually a card of the color chosen by the other player. It just matches the color because it matches every color. I think it is against the spirit of the rule to allow a wild card to count as matching.
A player was forced to draw cards due to a Wild Draw Color card being played. How do we know that the player actually drew the required color?
The rules do not specifically give a way to verify that the player drew a card of the color that they had to draw. In this situation players should be honest and not cheat.
If you think a player could potentially lie about drawing the correct color card, you could choose to add in a house rule forcing them to show the other players that they drew a matching card. You could either force them to draw the cards where everyone can see what they drew, or you could just force them to show the matching card that they drew. The player does not get to play the matching card though as the rules specifically say that the player loses their next turn.
Otherwise you could choose to implement a challenge system similar to if you think the Wild Draw Color card was played incorrectly. If a player challenges, the player who had to draw cards has to show the matching card. If they did not have a matching card, they would have to keep drawing until they got a matching card. They also likely should have to draw a couple extra cards for a punishment. If the player was playing truthfully though, the challenger should probably have to draw cards.
I personally would go with the first option as it is the simplest. Having to show the other players your matching card doesn’t give the other players too much information. It also prevents players from cheating.
I have only two cards left. I play a Skip Everyone card making it my turn again. If a player challenges me for not saying UNO, do I have to draw two cards?
This is an interesting situation as you immediately get to take another turn. The rules for saying UNO is that another player has to challenge you before the next player begins their turn. It is not specific on what constitutes beginning your turn.
I would try to say UNO just to make things clearer. If you don’t though and are challenged by another player, I see two different scenarios.
I would say that you don’t have to draw cards if you immediately start playing your last card. In this case you have obviously begun your second turn as you have started playing your next card.
If you take some time before you start your next turn though, it is more complicated. It then becomes whether you have begun your turn if you haven’t done anything yet. In this case I would say that you should have to draw the cards for not saying UNO as you really haven’t begun your turn.
