The configuration of the audio settings of the HyperX QuadCast allows for higher-quality input and broadcasting, free of interruptions or unwanted background noises.

This guide will help you achieve the most optimal settings configuration for the QuadCast from multiple software apps.

To achieve optimal HyperX QuadCast settings, set the “Polar Pattern” to “Cardioid” and regulate the “Gain” knob of the mic.

Then, adjust the microphone’s settings through your device’s OS and NGENUITY, or use OBS to set up microphone filters.

What are the Best HyperX QuadCast Mic Settings?

Whilst the perfect mic configuration is strongly individual and different for everyone, there is a way to make the HyperX QuadCast sound much clearer without any background noise/buzz.

Note that some of the microphone’s audio modifications may not be possible with the default mic stand of the HyperX QuadCast, so you should consider purchasing a replacement stand.

First, let’s start with configuring the default audio settings!

Best HyperX QuadCast Default Audio Settings:

You can adjust some of the microphone’s default settings through the built-in adjustment knobs on the outer periphery of the QuadCast.

Some of them allow you to regulate the Mute state of the microphone, Gain adjustment, and select a Polar Pattern.

HyperX Polar Pattern Knob 

You can pick from up to 4 selectable polar pattern modes on the HyperX, each one featuring a different audio pickup technology.

For optimal performance during any type of usage, set the HyperX QuadCast to “Cardioid” mode.

HyperX “Gain” Knob 

You can regulate the pickup frequency and sensitivity of the HyperX by pushing the knob at the bottom toward the left or right.

HyperX “Mute” functionality

For quicker user access, HyperX has integrated a “Mute” functionality by tapping the top of the microphone.

If the LED backlight goes off, it means that the HyperX has entered “Mute” mode and must be tapped again to unmute.

Tip: If the LED backlight is off, it could also mean that there’s an issue with QuadCast’s power!

How to Adjust QuadCast Audio Settings On Windows?

1. Right-click the speaker icon within your Windows taskbar.
2. Click on “Sound” and select the “Recording” tab at the top.
3. Scroll down and find the HyperX QuadCast within the menu.
4. Right-click and select “Properties” from the drop-down menu.
5. Click on “Advanced” and locate the “Default Format” section.

• Set the “Default Format” to “2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD Quality.)
• Enable both checkboxes under the “Default Format” menu in “Advanced.”
• Regulate the microphone’s input through the “Levels” tab within the menu.

How to Adjust QuadCast Audio Settings On macOS?

1. Click on “System Preferences” through the Apple Menu.
2. After that, navigate to “Sound” and then press on “Input.”
3. Select the HyperX QuadCast from the microphone menu.

• Configure the QuadCast’s “Input Level” from the menu.

For optimal performance, set the “Close” feature to “-35 dB” and “Open” to “-26 dB”

Compressor

The “Compressor” filter allows for reducing loud or high-pitched noises picked up by the QuadCast.

More minus is added to the compressor’s threshold, more compressed will be the mic’s input sounds!

Expander

Like the “Compressor” filter, the “Expander” feature does the same thing, but in the opposite direction.

The more minus is added to the filter’s “dB,” the more noise will be allowed to go through the microphone.

Gain

Similar to the built-in knob of the QuadCast, you can also adjust the device’s gain through OBS as well.

For a higher level of gain precision, you can adjust the feature through both sources and measure the input sensitivity. 

Note: Ensure all filter and audio settings are configured under an OBS user profile!

The HyperX NGENUITY available through the Microsoft Store provides extra customizations for QuadCast’s audio and input settings.

You can download the driver completely for free on your computer and complete the automatic setup to recognize and pair the QuadCast microphone.

After accessing the driver, click “Audio” at the top and ensure the “Don’t Use Base Settings” slider is set to “Off.”

This allows for custom modifications of the audio settings.
