The Apple 5s comes with 2G (GSM 850/900/1800/1900 – all models) + (CDMA 800/1700/1900/2100 – A1533 (CDMA), A1453) as well as 3G (HSDPA 850/900/1700/1900/2100 – A1533 (GSM), A1453) as well as 4G. The primary camera is a 8 MegaPixel at 3264 x 2448 pixels with autofocus and a dual-LED (dual tone) flash. The video recording and play is also very good at 1080p@30fps or 720p@120fps. The secondary camera is a 1.2 MegaPixel running at 720p@30fps.

The iPhone 5s has no radio built in however comes with a loudspeaker. Likewise with a 3.5mm jack as well as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth V4. The phone also has A-GPS, GLONASS. Conference Calls
With GSM, you can start a conference call with up to five people (this might vary depending on your carrier). Here’s how you do it:
- Start a call.
- While on the call, tap ‘Add Call’ and make another call.
- After that, tap ‘Merge Calls’.
- You can repeat these steps to add more people to the conference.
During the conference, you have several options:
- To remove one person, tap next to their name, then tap ‘End’.
- If you want to talk privately with one person, tap ‘Private’ next to their name. You can return to the conference by tapping ‘Merge Calls’.
- To add an incoming caller to the conference, tap ‘Hold Call + Answer’, then tap ‘Merge Calls’.
Emergency Calls
If your iPhone is locked, you can still make an emergency call. On the ‘Enter Passcode’ screen, tap ‘Emergency Call’. But remember, don’t rely solely on your iPhone for emergencies. Some cellular networks may not accept an emergency call from an iPhone that is not activated, not compatible with their network, or if the SIM card is PIN-locked.
When Someone Calls on Apple iPhone 5s
When you receive a call, you can:
- Tap ‘Answer’ to take the call. If your iPhone is locked, drag the slider. You can also press the center button on your headset.
- Silence the call by pressing the Sleep/Wake button or either volume button. You can still answer the call until it goes to voicemail.
- Decline the call and send it directly to voicemail by pressing the Sleep/Wake button twice quickly, pressing and holding the center button on your headset for about two seconds, or tapping ‘Decline’ if your iPhone is awake when the call comes in.
- Respond with a text message instead of answering by tapping ‘Message’ and choosing a reply or tapping ‘Custom’.
- Remind yourself to return the call by tapping ‘Remind Me’ and indicating when you want to be reminded.
Keep it Quiet
If you want some quiet time, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen to open Control Center, then turn on ‘Do Not Disturb’ or ‘Airplane Mode’.
Block Unwanted Callers
You can block unwanted callers by tapping ‘Block this Caller’ on a contact card. Likewise you can also block callers in ‘Settings > Phone > Blocked’. You won’t receive voice calls, FaceTime calls, or text messages from blocked callers.
Respond to a Second Call
When you receive a second call, you can:
- Ignore the call and send it to voicemail by tapping ‘Ignore’.
- Put the first call on hold and answer the new one by tapping ‘Hold Call + Answer’.
- End the first call and answer the new one by tapping ‘End Call + Answer’ if you’re using a GSM network. With a CDMA network, tap ‘End Call’ and when the second call rings back, tap ‘Answer’, or drag the slider if the phone is locked.
- With a call on hold, tap ‘Swap’ to switch between calls or tap ‘Merge Calls’ to talk with both parties at once.
Ringtones and Vibrations on Apple iPhone 5s
Your iPhone comes with ringtones for incoming calls, Clock alarms, and the Clock timer. You can also buy ringtones from songs in the iTunes Store. To set the default ringtone, go to ‘Settings > Sound > Ringtone’. You can assign different ringtones for special people in your life by going to ‘Contacts’, choosing a contact, tapping ‘edit’, then tapping ‘Ringtone’. To turn the ringer on or off, flip the switch on the side of your iPhone. To turn vibrate on or off, go to ‘Settings > Sounds’.
International Calls
If you need information about making international calls from your home area, including rates and other charges, you should contact your carrier. When you’re traveling abroad, you might be able to use your iPhone to make calls, send and receive text messages, and use apps that access the Internet, depending on the networks available.
To enable international roaming, you’ll need to contact your carrier for information about availability and fees. Remember, voice, text message, and data roaming charges may apply. To avoid these charges while roaming, you can turn off Voice Roaming and Data Roaming.
If you have a CDMA account and an iPhone 4s or later with a SIM card installed, you might be able to roam on GSM networks. While roaming on a GSM network, your iPhone can access GSM network features. However, charges may apply, so contact your carrier for more information.
To set network options
Likewise, go to ‘Settings > Cellular’. Here, you can turn data roaming, cellular data, and voice roaming on or off. If you’re using a CDMA network, you can also use GSM networks abroad.
If you want to turn off cellular services, go to ‘Settings’, turn on ‘Airplane Mode’, then tap ‘Wi-Fi’ and turn it on. Incoming phone calls will be sent to voicemail. To resume cellular service, turn ‘Airplane Mode’ off.
When you’re traveling abroad and using a GSM network, you can make calls to your contacts and favorites by going to ‘Settings > Phone’ and turning on ‘Dial Assist’. This feature automatically adds the prefix or country code for calls to the U.S.
To select a carrier network, go to ‘Settings > Carrier’. This setting appears on GSM networks when you’re outside your carrier’s network, and other local carrier data networks are available for your phone calls, visual voicemail, and cellular network Internet connections. You can only make calls on carriers that have a roaming agreement with your carrier. Additional fees may apply, and roaming charges may be billed to you by the other carrier, through your carrier.
If visual voicemail isn’t available, you can still get voicemail by dialing your own number (with CDMA, add ‘#’ after your number), or touch and hold ‘1’ on the numeric keypad.
Phone Settings
Go to ‘Settings > Phone’ to see your iPhone’s phone number, change the default text message replies for incoming calls, turn call forwarding, call waiting, and caller ID on or off (if you’re using a GSM network), turn TTY on or off, change your voicemail password (if you’re using a GSM network), and require a PIN to unlock your SIM when you turn your iPhone on (this is required by some carriers).
Go to ‘Settings > Sounds’ to set ringtones and volume, set vibration options, and set the sound for new voicemail.

Mail Settings
Go to ‘Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars’ to create a different mail signature for each account, add mail accounts, Bcc yourself on every message you send, turn on ‘Organize by Thread’ to group related messages together, turn off confirmation for deleting a message, turn off ‘Push’ delivery of new messages to save on battery power, and temporarily turn off an account.
Messages Settings
Go to ‘Settings > Messages’ to set options for Messages, including turning iMessage on or off, notifying others when you’ve read their messages, specifying an Apple ID or email address to use with Messages, SMS and MMS options, turning group messaging on or off, showing the ‘Subject’ field, showing the character count, and blocking unwanted messages.

For all those who have an error 53, Apple has released the iOS 9.3 update, which provides a successful recovery device using iTunes on your Mac or PC. Follow the steps listed in this article to
restore your device. If you think that the paid for non-warranty unit replacement due to error 53, contact Apple Support and request a refund.
- If iTunes is open on your Mac or PC, then close it.
- If your iOS device is connected to a computer, disconnect it.
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes.
- Connect your iOS device to your computer using a USB cable.
- Open iTunes and select your device.
- When the iTunes prompts you to perform a restore or update, click «Update». iTunes will attempt to reinstall the OS and restore iOS device without erasing data.
- If the screen «freezes» on the Apple logo, perform a forced restart your iOS device. When you are prompted to restore or update, select «Restore».
- When an iOS device appears the welcome screen, follow the onscreen instructions to configure the device.
- If you saved a backup device, you can restore it from a backup.
- When the screen for the Touch ID, click «Customize Touch ID later.»
- If your device has a sensor Touch ID did not work until the error 53, this feature still does not work after the update or restore the device. Contact Apple Support to get information about
service options for Touch ID.

megapixels).
October 4, 2011 has been presented iPhone 4S with iOS 5 operating system (the next day on October 5, 2011, Steve Jobs passed away). Updated phone had borrowed from the iPad 2
processor Apple A5, 8-megapixel camera and a hybrid GSM / CDMA communication system. Also before the WWDC 2012 voice assistant Siri, who came instead of Voice Control, was only available in the
iPhone 4S.
As of July 2012 has sold more than 250 million iPhone.
September 19, 2012 the company introduced a new update — iPhone 5. This model has found a «high» screen (screen size of 4 inches against 3.5 in all previous ones), which is the
most significant change in the appearance of the iPhone from the beginning of production, plus an updated connector Lightning. Was also presented iOS 6.
In June 2013, Apple has introduced for its users in the US the opportunity to exchange the old iPhone to the new phone to pay the difference in price.
September 10, 2013 has been presented iPhone 5s. Phone got a 64-bit processor A7 / M7 fingerprint sensor. Also presented was a cheaper iPhone 5c with a polycarbonate body and without fingerprint
sensor.
September 9, 2014 have been presented iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with increased enhanced screens, processor A8 / M8 cameras with phase focusing system.
September 9, 2015 was presented the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus with the A9 / M9 processor, 3D Touch Screen Technology and Live Photo soft technology.
March 21, 2016 was presented to iPhone SE processor A9 / M9 and a screen diagonal of 4 inches. Technical data of the new smartphone is almost completely match the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus,
with the exception of support 3D Touch features. The design of the new smartphone iPhone SE identical to the iPhone 5s. The only external difference between the new model of the iPhone 5S is the
inscription «SE» on the rear panel, as the lineup expanded with the addition of new body colors.
